RE: what is the difference between on site optimization and on page optimization?
On-page Optimization and off- page Optimization are a part of the Search Engine Optimization process to increase website traffic. There is a big difference between the two. Understanding these Optimization techniques is of vital importance if Search engine Optimization is the preferred tool for online promotion of business to create more website traffic.

You should consider two factors before choosing On-page Optimization or off- page Optimization. The first is that you should be able to provide search engines what they need and also provide the required information to the users. The type of on- page and off- page.

Search engines evaluate websites based on a number of on- page and off- page Optimization factors. On-page Optimization is the process by which elements of a website are so designed such the website qualifies for a high ranking when specific keyword(s) or keyword phrases are typed. On page optimization is just a part of the optimization process and will not guarantee your website a good ranking unless off –page optimization is also in place. Therefore, both on-page and off-page optimization techniques have to work in tandem with each other. On-page optimization should also occur in each and every page of the website.

Hello friends,

On Page Optimization is the activity that is done on the page for Search engine ranking like using alt tags, keywords is meta tag, tool tip and proximity, keyword-density, proper usage of keywords in heading tags.

Off Page Optimization is the activity that is done on other sites for our site to increase search engine ranking. Off Page Optimization activities include directory submission, article submission, forum discussion, blog posting, press release, blog commenting, etc.

RE: what is the difference between on site optimization and on page optimization?
Both terms refer to search search engine optimization factors that you control on the website itself and indclude: i) the content on the website and ii) the structure of the website. The content, of course, is the words you use and how they relate to the search terms, or keywords, that people are looking for in their web search. The structure refers to how the website is architected for SEO. This includes the use of keywords in the URL, the Title Tags, Page Descriptions, keyword tags, and internal links within the site.

The distinction between the two terms is that “On Page” optimization refers to search engine optimization that is done on a single specific page while “On Site” optimization refers to structural factor that relate or connect one page to another across the website.

On page optimization is what can be done on the pages of a website to maximize its performance in search results (like inclusion of unique content, meta tag optimization, usage of anchor text, reducing page loading speed etc)

Off page is what you do to promote your website ( like linkbuilding, social bookmarking, guest blogging, directory submission etc.)

On Site SEO:
This refers to all the things you can do to and throughout your website to ensure that the website home page ranks highly in Google, Yahoo and MSN.

Off Site SEO:
Off-site SEO is concerned with all the things that can be done on other websites to help your site or blog home page rank well in all the search engines, with the focus as always on Google.

In on page optimization, you can make dynamic changes in the website whereas In off page optimization you can only build links for a particular website through the link-building techniques.
